Our Commitment to You
This LifeTrusty privacy policy is written in plain language by The LifeTrusty Health/USA Team, because you should never have to decode what a website does with your data. We run lifetrusty.com as an independent editorial publication covering health, fitness and nutrition — not as a data broker, and not as a healthcare provider.
In short: we collect as little as we reasonably can, we use it only to run and improve this website, we never sell your personal information for money, and we give you real choices about advertising cookies and analytics. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can exercise your rights.
- Minimal collection: we do not ask for an account, and we do not ask for health data about you.
- No sale for money: your personal information is not sold for money, full stop.
- Real controls: you can opt out of personalized advertising and analytics at any time, and those controls are linked below.
- Plain English: where a legal term is unavoidable, we explain it in the same sentence.
Not medical advice: nothing on lifetrusty.com replaces professional medical advice. Read our Medical Disclaimer.
Who We Are and How to Reach Us
LifeTrusty (“we”, “our”, “us”) operates https://lifetrusty.com. For the purposes of data protection law, we are the controller of the personal information described in this Privacy Policy. Our audience is primarily in the United States, but we welcome readers everywhere.
You can reach our privacy team directly:
- Email: [email protected]
- Contact form: lifetrusty.com/contact-lifetrusty
For the commercial rules that apply when you use the site, see our Terms of Service.
Information This Privacy Policy Covers
Automatically collected information. When you load a page, our servers, security layer and CDN record technical details needed to deliver and protect the site.
- Server and security logs: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page and timestamps.
- Analytics data: aggregate usage measured with Google Analytics 4 — which guides are read, from which countries, on which devices.
Information you choose to give us.
- Newsletter email: if you subscribe through a form on this site, we receive your email address via Mailchimp (The Rocket Science Group), acting as our processor. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
- Contact form: whatever you type — typically your name, email address and message — so we can reply to you.
- Comments: if comments are enabled on an article, we may store your name, email address, IP address and the comment itself.
Information from advertising partners. When advertising (including Google AdSense) is enabled, our advertising partners may collect cookie identifiers, device information and interaction data to select, limit and measure ads. Details are in our Cookie Policy.
What this Privacy Policy does not cover. We do not knowingly collect health conditions, medical records, precise geolocation, or financial information from you. If a third party links to us, its own privacy policy applies to its data practices.
How and Why We Use Information
Every use of your information has a purpose, and we keep the list short:
- Operating the site: delivering pages, balancing load, and keeping lifetrusty.com available and fast.
- Security: detecting spam, bots, fraud and unauthorized access, and investigating incidents.
- Improving content: understanding which guides are useful, in aggregate, so we can write more of what helps.
- Sending what you asked for: newsletter delivery when you subscribe, and replies to messages you send us.
- Advertising and measurement: selecting, limiting and measuring ads when advertising is enabled.
- Legal compliance: responding to lawful requests and meeting obligations under applicable law.
Where data protection law requires a legal basis (for example for EU visitors), we rely on legitimate interests (operating and securing a website), consent (newsletter sign-up, non-essential cookies where required), and legal obligation (tax, accounting or law-enforcement requests).
Cookies, Analytics and Advertising
We use cookies and similar technologies. The full category-by-category breakdown — strictly necessary, functional, analytics, advertising and embedded services — lives in our Cookie Policy.
- Analytics: Google Analytics 4 measures aggregate traffic. Opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Advertising: when Google AdSense is enabled, cookies are used to select, limit and measure ads. Control personalized Google ads in Google Ads Settings.
- Industry opt-outs: opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies via the Network Advertising Initiative or the Digital Advertising Alliance.
Advertising and affiliate links are disclosed in line with U.S. Federal Trade Commission guidance on endorsements and testimonials, and in our Editorial Policy. Disclosure never changes what we write.
When We Share Information
We share information only with companies that help us run the site, and never sell it for money.
- Google: Google Analytics 4 for analytics and, when enabled, Google AdSense for advertising. Google may process data in the United States.
- Mailchimp: newsletter delivery on our behalf.
- Hosting, CDN and security: our web host, Cloudflare, and our caching and security plugins process log data to deliver and protect the site.
- Contact form routing: messages are delivered to our editors so we can respond.
- Legal requirements: we disclose information when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our readers and of LifeTrusty.
We do not allow service providers to use your information for their own unrelated purposes.
Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and similar U.S. state laws, certain advertising activities can be treated as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information even when no money changes hands. When that applies, you have the right to opt out.
How to opt out today:
- Turn off personalized ads in Google Ads Settings.
- Use the NAI opt-out page or the DAA opt-out page.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser — see our Cookie Policy.
We do not discriminate against anyone who exercises these rights: you keep full access to every article on lifetrusty.com, whether or not you opt out.
Your U.S. State Privacy Rights
If you are a resident of California or another U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law, this Privacy Policy gives you the following rights:
- Right to know: request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we hold about you, and how it is used and shared.
- Right to delete: ask us to delete personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Right to correct: request correction of inaccurate information.
- Right to opt out: opt out of the sale or sharing of your information for targeted advertising, and of certain profiling.
- Right to non-discrimination: exercising your rights will never reduce the service you receive.
- Authorized agents: you may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, where the law allows it.
To submit a request, use our contact page. We will confirm receipt, verify your identity, and respond within the timeframe required by law — generally up to 45 days, with a possible extension we will tell you about in advance.
If You Are Visiting from the EU or UK
Readers in the European Union and the United Kingdom are covered too. Under the GDPR and UK GDPR, we process your information on these bases:
- Legitimate interests: operating, securing and improving a public website, and understanding aggregate audience reach.
- Consent: sending you the newsletter, and setting non-essential cookies where consent is required. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: complying with tax, accounting or lawful requests.
Your rights include access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability of the data you provided, and objection to processing based on legitimate interests. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.
We answer rights requests within 30 days of receiving a verifiable request. Send requests through our contact page. Where data is transferred outside your country, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses with our processors.
Children’s Privacy Under COPPA
Children under 13 are not our audience. lifetrusty.com is written for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not condition participation in any activity on a child’s disclosure of more information than is reasonably necessary.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through a newsletter sign-up, a contact message or a comment, contact us through our contact page and we will delete it promptly. The same request can be made through our contact page.
Retention, Security and Data Breaches
- Retention: server and security logs are kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting; newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe; contact messages are kept as long as needed to handle your request. We then delete or anonymize the data.
- Security: we protect information with SSL/TLS encryption, security monitoring, access controls, caching and rate limiting. Learn how to protect yourself online with CISA’s guidance on protecting your privacy.
- Breach notification: if a security incident results in unauthorized access to your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities within the timeframe required by applicable U.S. state breach-notification laws — commonly within 72 hours where that deadline applies — and we will describe what happened and what we are doing about it.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security — but we do commit to telling you when something affects your data.
Changes to the LifeTrusty Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our practices, providers or legal obligations change. The latest version will always appear on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date at the top. Material changes will be called out clearly on this page before they take effect where the law requires it. Continued use of lifetrusty.com after an update means you accept the revised Privacy Policy.
